Clarion Call to Worship

Genesis 1:1-3  In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.  ² And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.  ³ And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

Genesis 1:31-2:3 ³¹ And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. ¹Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.  ² And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.  ³ And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Psalm 8:1-9 (To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm of David.) O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.  ² Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.  ³ When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;  ⁴ What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?  ⁵ For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.  ⁶ Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:  ⁷ All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;  ⁸ The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.  ⁹ O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

Job 38:1-7  Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,  ² Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?  ³ Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.  ⁴ Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.  ⁵ Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?  ⁶ Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;  ⁷ When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
